Saitama Prefecture is one of the prefectures in Japan where agriculture is thriving. There are many farmers trying hard to improve their products; excellent products are grown and sold in other
districts in Japan. Surprisingly, however, there are not so many residents who live in Saitama Prefecture or Saitama City who know what products are cultivated in their local areas.
“NPO Agriculture Support Team in Saitama” was established in April, 2017, intending to invigorate Saitama agriculture and improve the quality of life through the interactions of farmers and
consumers. We think it is important to popularize excellent local agricultural products in order to promote sustainable agriculture, which is the basis of rich food culture.
We are now mainly working in the three categories below:
1. To hold “Tasting the Best Season of Saitama” events
2. To support exporting Saitama agricultural products
3. To develop new commercial products based on Saitama agriculture.
